Nursing career outcomes and study pathways

Work as an Enrolled Nurse

After completion the HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing and registering with NMBA, you'll be able to begin working as an Enrolled Nurse​. This is a nationally approved vocational course that is recognised throughout Australia.

As an Enrolled Nurse, you'll provide nursing care to patients in a variety of health, aged care, welfare and community settings, in many cases under the supervision of Registered Nurses.

A growing workforce: health care is the biggest provider of new jobs in Australia and is projected to contribute 14.9% of employment growth from 2018 to 2023.

Students who successfully complete the HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing are provided guaranteed* entry into the second year of the UOW Bachelor of Nursing. Students must provide evidence of current NMBA registration with AHPRA before progressing.

Package offer

A package offer means that a student can receive an offer for the HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing and the UOW Bachelor of Nursing at the same time. If you receive a package offer, you will have a guaranteed* pathway to into the second year of the Bachelor of Nursing subject to the successful completion of the Diploma of Nursing and provide evidence of current NMBA registration with AHPRA. Important - International students seeking a package offer should apply for the July intake. Applications for the February intake can only be issued as a standalone offer for the Diploma of Nursing.
