UOW College entry requirements vary depending on your course, nationality and study pathway. Students may qualify through an ATAR, HSC results, previous qualifications, literacy assessments or English language proficiency requirements.

Many courses offer multiple entry pathways, including:

Diploma of Arts, Social Science and Humanities - Fast Track

The Diploma of Arts, Social Science and Humanities – Fast Track provides an accelerated pathway to selected University of Wollongong (UOW) degrees in arts, social sciences, international studies and related disciplines. Eligible graduates may receive up to one year of credit towards selected bachelor degrees and progress into later stages of their university studies.

The Diploma of Arts, Social Science and Humanities provides an alternative pathway to university study for domestic students interested in arts, community-focused disciplines, social sciences and humanities-related fields. Graduates may receive credit towards selected UOW degrees and continue their studies at university level.

The Diploma of Business – Fast Track is designed for students seeking an accelerated pathway into business-related degrees at the University of Wollongong (UOW). Eligible graduates can receive credit towards selected UOW business degrees and may progress directly into the second year of their chosen bachelor degree.

Eligible graduates may receive up to one year of credit towards the Bachelor of Primary Education and can progress directly into the second year of the degree.

The diploma includes additional mathematics pathway options for students who need to demonstrate engineering preparedness through previous study or bridging programs.

This diploma is designed for students interested in scientific study and careers in fields such as biology, chemistry, environmental science and marine science.

University Entrance Program - Stream 1

The University Entrance Program (UEP) – Stream 1 provides an alternative pathway to university study for students who may not meet traditional admission requirements or who are returning to study after time away from education.

Successful completion of UEP Stream 1 can provide entry into selected University of Wollongong (UOW) degrees in areas including psychology, criminology, education, social sciences and nursing. This program provides university preparation rather than academic credit towards a degree.

Important pathway update

From 2027, the Diploma of Education Studies will be the only pathway into the Bachelor of Primary Education. UEP will no longer be available to new students for this pathway.

Successful completion of UEP Stream 3 can provide entry into selected UOW degrees in mathematics, physics and radiation sciences. Depending on the degree, students may receive limited academic credit or gain direct entry into first-year university study.

The HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing prepares students for study and training in nursing and healthcare settings, including academic coursework and clinical placement requirements.
