The Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Framework
The Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Framework is a robust body of federal laws that govern the delivery of education to international students in Australia and protect and enhance the experiences of overseas students in Australia. The ESOS legislative framework is designed to uphold Australia’s high standards for, and commitment to, international education through a consistent national approach, and to support the integrity of the student visa system, provide tuition protection and safeguard Australia’s international reputation as a provider of high quality education and training.
Education institutions can only deliver education services to international students on a student visa in Australia if they are registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). Registered providers must have met, and continue to meet, the requirements of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (ESOS Act) and National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018 (National Code). UOW College is a registered provider on CRICOS and is required to comply with the ESOS Framework.
