School-based apprenticeships and traineeships

Start your career with a School-Based Traineeship

School-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SBAT) are a great way to set yourself up for your future career, while completing your HSC.

SBAT courses combine paid work, training and school and are available to high school students in NSW who are in Years 10, 11, and 12.

You could:

  • Gain a nationally recognised qualification fee-free* while at school.
  • Receive hands on industry experience.
  • Get paid while you learn new skills.
  • Contribute to your ATAR (depending on the course you select).

After completing a school-based traineeship, you’ll be fully qualified and can begin full time work or continue on to higher level study.
