The EVET program is a major achievement and forward step for advancement of UOW College as a vocational education provider in the region. Madeleine Dimitroulis, Manager Vocational Programs, UOW College, said “UOW College is excited to extend a range of qualifications to secondary school students from 2017.The UOW College EVET program will provide Year 11 and 12 students with a unique opportunity to study a qualification at the University of Wollongong campus, introducing them to the UOW student experience and opening the door to employment options and further study at UOW College and the University.” UOW College will offer selected Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses to secondary school students that provide students with an opportunity to develop employability skills while receiving their secondary education. The program supports students to become 'career ready' by allowing them to experience a variety of professions through work placement and also provides students with an alternate pathway to further tertiary study while they continue to attend secondary school.
