Certificate IV in Community Services
UOW College is equipped to give students the right skills for further study at UOW
I chose UOW College because it provided me with a pathway to the University of Wollongong. I am using my Certificate IV qualification to seek employment as well as making that step into a University of Wollongong (UOW) Bachelor degree.
My advice to students that are considering University but do not meet UOW ATAR requirements would be to not give up as UOW College can provide a great pathway. UOW College is equipped to give students the right skills for further study at UOW as well as assisting students in finding their passion.
My studies at UOW College have prepared me for transitioning into further studies as it has taught me new skills that I didn’t have before. Acquiring these academic and practical skills has changed me as a person and has opened my eyes to see what it would be like to work in my chosen field. During my time at the College I have also learned where my passion lies and what Bachelor I want to pursue. The Certificate IV in Community Services is giving me the opportunity to apply for a Bachelor of Nursing at UOW.
Studying at UOW College makes you feel like a UOW student as you have access to all facilities on campus. Meeting other like-minded students and learning innovative ideas from each other made it a really special place for me to study and learn. I particularly enjoyed having in-class discussions about the topics we studied, sharing and learning innovative ideas from other students and experiencing work placement in a community development setting. My trainer, Steph, was very passionate and has given me a great understanding of the field of community services as well as links towards my chosen Bachelor degree in Nursing.
