The Certificate IV in Business will help you understand the fundamentals of business to support you to explore career options or start your career in business. You will be trained in areas such as developing teams, coordinating and implementing customer service strategies, communicating and building networks and recruiting and selecting staff.
Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include:
- Team Leader
- Executive Officer
- Administration Assistant
- Retail Manager
- Only available to Domestic students
- No academic entry requirements

Students are required to study 10 core subjects.

The Certificate IV in Business is delivered face-to-face in a classroom and computer based environment over 2 days per week for 2 academic sessions and includes self-paced activities.
For VET courses with no work placement component:

A range of assessment methods are used to determine competence. These may include:
- Short answer/multiple choice questions
- Oral presentations
- Role play
- Visual presentation
- Practical sessions
Pathways from the Qualification
Upon successful completion of the Certificate IV in Business, students will be guaranteed entry to the Bachelor of Commerce and the Bachelor of Business at the University of Wollongong. Students may also be eligible to apply for other UOW undergraduate courses where applicable. See UOW Course Finder for information on eligible degrees.
