Academic Programs

No matter what stage of life you may find yourself in, UOW College has a course that will be your pathway into university. Our courses have been designed with two types of students in mind:

The Career Changer The School Leaver
  • Finished high school some years ago and didn’t go to university
  • You may or may not have finished Year 12 and received a UAI (or ATAR)
  • You may have completed a traineeship or diploma
  • You may have been working since you left school
  • You do not have the necessary qualifications for direct entry into university
  • Have just finished your high school education
  • You are 17-19 years old
  • You have completed the HSC and received an ATAR
  • Your ATAR may not have been high enough for direct entry into university

Alternatively, if you already know what area you want to study at university then use the search tool on the homepage to find out which UOW College course can get you there. Successful completion of a UOW College academic course can provide direct entry into the below areas of study, with the exception of:

  • 4 year professional degrees
  • Double degree programs
  • Related 3-year degrees are available in some cases in Science and Health and Behavioural Science. You may apply to transfer to the 4 year program after completing your first year of study.

Academic Course Semesters:

The UOW College academic year is made up of three semesters*:

  • Autumn – February to June
  • Spring – June to October
  • Summer – October to February

*Note that English Courses do not necessarily follow this semester structure. Check the individual English Program that you are interested in to determine course duration.
